DURO-LAM LAMINATED PANELS
STORAGE & CONDITIONING
Panels must be stored flat on a clean,
dry surface. Pre-condition for at least
24 hours at temperature and moisture level
typical for the area after construction.
ALLOWING FOR MOVEMENT
Leave 1/8" between and 3/16" at the top
and bottom of each panel.
MOLDINGS & CAULKING
Moldings provide a finished look to an
installation. When moldings are used in
conjunction with a quality caulk/sealant,
a moisture resistant wall surfacing can
be achieved. CAUTION: exposed OSB substrate
will absorb moisture. Failure to use moldings
and sealant may allow swelling, deterioration
of substrate and weaken the laminate bond.
ADHESIVES & FASTENERS
DURO-LAM panels should be installed with
adhesive and mechanical fasteners. Use a
quality cartridge style construction adhesive.
APPLYING THE PANEL
Always follow all adhesive, sealant and
fastener manufacturer's instructions. Make
sure that walls or studding to be covered
are structurally sound, level and true.
Plan so that panel edges meet on studding.
Cut and pre-fit panels allowing for expansion
and contraction. If moldings and caulking
are utilized, insure that caulking is applied
to moldings as they are installed.
NYLON RIVET PATTERN
Install rivets starting from the center
of panel. Work outwards, securing the perimeter
last. Arrange fasteners on 16" centers with
outer fasteners placed about 1" from panel
edges. Stagger rivet rows 8" to
